Prepare Your Home For Market
Exterior Checklist
- Mow lawns and trim shrubs
- Add flowering plants for color
- Garage is clean and tidy
- Garage door opens and closes properly
- Oil and/or rust stains are removed from the driveway
- Back yard is clean and clutter free including pool/spa
- Stucco is free of cracks
- Bricks are secured and undamaged
- All hardware is in working order
- Trash cans are clean and out of sight
- Gates and fences painted and working
- Exterior lights working
Interior Checklist
- Ceilings and walls are clean
- Paint and wallpaper are in good condition
- Floors and carpets are clean and in good condition
- Sinks are clean and working and free of leaks
- Cupboards clean, uncluttered and painted/stained
- Refrigerator is clean inside and out
- Oven is clean and working
- Curtains, drapes and windowsills are clean
- Excess furniture has been removed
- All light fixtures work and are polished/dusted
- Fireplace is clean and wood is stacked neatly
- Dressers and closets are neat and tidy
- Tubs are clean
- Tile is clean and free of cracks with caulking in good condition
- New shower curtains
- Toilet is clean and seat is firmly fastened
- Fresh towels in all bathrooms
- Washer and dryer are clean and empty
- Furnace inspected
- Hot water heater is in good condition
- Heating and air systems working and filters replaced
- Baked goods in the oven or potpourri around the house for pleasant aroma
